At least 30 individuals lost their lives, and hundreds were injured as Israel launched hundreds of overnight airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, according to a statement by a Hamas government official on Wednesday.
Salama Marouf, the head of the government's media office, reported that numerous residential buildings, factories, mosques, and shops were among the targets.
The Israeli military confirmed that it had indeed struck various Hamas targets during the night. They mentioned that fighter jets destroyed "advanced detection systems" used by Hamas for military aircraft surveillance.
In the Beit Hanoun area of northeastern Gaza Strip, they struck 80 Hamas targets, including two bank branches believed to be used for funding terrorism within the enclave, as reported by the military. Air strikes also targeted a weapons storage facility and an operational command center used by the Islamic Jihad militant group.
