Father Faces Court Charges for Alleged Sexual Molestation of Underage Sons in Lagos

  • On Tuesday, the Lagos State Government brought charges against Afeez Gbadamosi, a 38-year-old, in the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, accusing him of allegedly sexually assaulting his two underage boys, ages three and seven

The state has lodged four charges of sexual assault and indecent behavior against Gbadamosi.


Abimbola Abolade, the state's prosecuting counsel, apprised the court that the alleged incidents took place between 2021 and 2022.

She specified that the molestation took place in the Agric Iyanamuda area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.


The state counsel informed Justice Abiola Sholadoye that the defendant had allegedly sexually assaulted the boys by digitally penetrating their anus.


She further alleged that Gbadamosi indecently touched theirgenitals,applied inappropriate pressure to their buttocks, and even exposed them to his sexual intercourse with his wife.


The prosecutor emphasized that these actions are in violation of Sections 261 and 264 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.


However, the defendant entered a plea of not guilty to the charges.


The defendant's counsel, O.O. Oladipupo, appealed to the court for her client to be granted bail under lenient conditions.

Justice Sholadoye, prior to adjourning the case, ordered that the defendant be detained at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre until he could satisfy the conditions for his release on bail.


The case was adjourned for trial on November 20, 2023.
